WALL TILE · BACKSPLASHES · SHOWERS

Backsplashes, shower walls and stone fireplaces, built from tile imported from nine countries

Subway, mosaic, decorative glass and stone, with trim to separate patterns and sales staff who help you draw the layout.

Chapter 01

A wall of tile is a lot of decisions at once

Wall tile asks for more choices than a floor does. Size, finish, grout colour, the trim at the edges, where the pattern changes and where it stops. A backsplash is a small space where one loud choice reads as a design decision. A shower wall is a large space where a quiet choice can read as a blank. Settle the scale before the colour.

Subway tile keeps a kitchen calm and sits well beside almost any cabinet. Mosaic and decorative glass reward a short run, a niche or a band, and can tire the eye across a whole wall. Natural stone brings texture that photographs never quite catch. Hold the board up beside your cabinet door or a flooring sample before you decide.

How we help you build the pattern

M & M Tile & Carpet has an extensive collection of decorative tile for walls and shower enclosures, imported from nine countries. Subway tile, mosaic, decorative glass and stone are all on the racks along Highway 412 West in Tontitown, and the selection table has trim samples laid out next to the tile so you can see how the pieces meet.

We have stone trim available to separate patterns with style, which is how a mosaic band stays crisp against a field of plain tile. Our knowledgeable sales staff can help you create the design and pattern you will love. Bring measurements, a photo of the room and a swatch of whatever else is going in beside it.

Marble, granite, slate, travertine, tumbled marble and metro quarry are part of what we distribute, along with ceramic wall tile, decorative tile and glass tile. Durock tile backer board is a distributed product too, so the wall behind the tile comes from the same counter as the tile itself.

Chapter 03

Fireplaces, showers and the care that follows

We also carry decorative stone tile to construct a fireplace, the kind that keeps a house comfortable through a Northwest Arkansas winter. Stacked stone reads best floor to ceiling with plain walls on either side and a hearth deep enough to look intentional rather than added on.

Wet walls need more care than dry ones. The grout lines in a shower are the first place to look when something changes, and a sealer made for your tile keeps natural stone from drinking up soap and water. We distribute ceramic tile cleaners and sealers, so ask which one belongs with the tile you chose.

Natural stone varies from box to box, so lay pieces out and mix from several cartons as you set them. Keep any leftover tile. When a grout line cracks or a piece lifts, call 479-361-2551 or stop by with a photo.

Sue Parks wrote on Google: "We are so pleased with our recent tile job. We have used M and M tile for years. They never let us down."
