Chapter 03
Keeping a bathroom looking the way it did on day one
Water is the whole story in a bath. Wipe down glass and fixtures after use if you can, keep the grout sealed where the tile calls for it, and watch the lines around a tub, where movement shows up first. A small crack caught early is a short repair. A small crack ignored is a bigger one.
Pick cleaners that suit the finish you chose, because a harsh product can dull a surface that was supposed to shine. If you are unsure what belongs on your tile or stone, ask at the counter. We distribute cleaners and sealers for ceramic tile and can point you to the right one.

Plank look wall tile runs up the alcove, and a mosaic band breaks the field before the ceiling. It is one of the bath jobs in our own gallery, and a good example of letting the tile do the decorating around a plain tub.
