Laminate has come a long way from flat beige. The current patterns copy marble veining, granite flecks, slate and stone texture, and wood grain closely enough that guests lean in to check. That is useful when you want an upscale look on a practical budget of effort and care. Hold a full size sample against your cabinet fronts and your floor before you commit.

Chapter 03
Taking care of a counter once it is in
Laminate is easy to live with if you respect two things: heat and standing water. Use trivets under hot pans, wipe spills at seams and around the sink before they sit, and clean with a mild cleaner instead of abrasive powder. A cutting board saves the surface from knife marks it cannot repair.
Stone and quartz have their own rules. Natural stone such as marble and granite may want a sealer, and acidic spills like lemon juice or wine should be wiped quickly. We distribute ceramic tile cleaners and sealers, and the sales team can tell you which product fits the surface you pick.
