Picking a wood you'll still like after the first scratch
Most people walk in with a colour in mind and leave with a different question: how much grain do I want to see? A busy oak hides scuffs better than a clean, quiet board does, and a softer wood like pine will dent where a harder one won't. None of that shows in a catalogue picture. It shows when you hold the sample and tilt it under real light.
That's why we'd rather you came to the showroom in Tontitown than ordered off a screen. Oak, cherry, pine, cork and manufactured wood styles are all in stock, in a wide spread of colours and grain options. Take samples home, set them against your cabinets and walls, then look again in the evening when the lamps are on.

How M & M handles a hardwood job
Our staff can help with selection, measurements and the ancillary floor products a hardwood job needs. Installation is done by our own installers, with attention to detail, and the materials come from the same building as the wood. Nobody has to chase a missing piece across three stores on a Saturday. We care about your satisfaction, and that's easier to deliver when the people who sold the floor are the ones laying it.

Living with wood after it's down
A hardwood floor breathes with the seasons. In a humid Northwest Arkansas summer the boards take on moisture, and in a dry, heated winter they give some back. A hairline between boards in January isn't a defect, it's wood being wood. Knowing that up front saves a worried phone call.
Felt pads under furniture legs, a mat at every outside door and a cleaner made for wood will do more for the finish than anything else. Grit is what scratches a floor, not feet, so keeping the sand off it matters more than keeping the shoes off.
